Everyone agreed that this book was a light
read and that there wasn’t a lot of substance to it, sort of like watching a
soap opera. However there was quite a
bit of discussion regarding adoption and the stigma of giving up a child for
adoption. Also, the deteriorating health
of the mother was something that most could relate to also the relationship
between the sisters. It was a “formula
book”, you could always tell what was going to happen and how it was going to
end. There was no character
development. The characters were
likeable and the family orchard being run by generations was also
interesting.
